What’s Next?
After you’ve downloaded and printed the cute dolphin coloring pages, here are some fun ideas for what kids and parents (or teachers) can do next:
- Choose one or more pages and set up a cozy coloring station with crayons, markers or colored pencils.
- Let kids pick a theme they like (surfing, pirate, space, etc.) and talk about what the dolphin might be doing—this adds a storytelling element.
- For homeschoolers or classroom use, pair the coloring with a mini-lesson: for example, talk about real dolphins – where they live, what they eat—and then color a “realistic version” of the dolphin page.
- After coloring, display the finished pages on a wall or bulletin board: kids feel proud seeing their work.
- For extra fun, challenge children to invent their own dolphin scene (draw it or use a blank sheet) or color one of the pages and then write a short caption or story about the dolphin’s adventure.
Fun Facts
- A real dolphin (many species) can swim up to 20–25 miles per hour when it wants to!
- Dolphins are super social and often “talk” with each other using clicks and whistles—and they’re known to help other dolphins (and sometimes humans) when in trouble.
- Some dolphins leap high out of the water and twist in the air—these jumps are called “porpoising”, and they let the dolphin move fast while breathing easily.
